Post-Paris: International Conference of Climate Change Management for CorporationsHow Enterprises Adapt to Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act in Taiwan

The Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act was took effect on 1 July 2015 in Taiwan. The Act provides a comprehensive legal framework for both mitigation and setting a long-term target to reduce Taiwan’s GHG emissions to 50% below 2005 levels by 2050. Being a member of global village, Taiwan has submitted Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) to the COP21. The COP21 was held in Paris, France from 30 November to 12 December 2015, and 195 nations set path to keep temperature rise well below 2 degrees Celsius, that is to say, it is important to develop renewable energy and low-carbon economy.

To assist enterprises to understand how they issue carbon credit from international markets. National University of Kaohsiung, China Steel Corporation, Nanjitan Asset Management Ltd. and Mt. Stonegate Green Asset Management Ltd. organised the workshop “Post-Paris: International Conference of Climate Change Management for Corporations” to provide a comprehensive forum on topics of strategies and opportunities in regard to this act.
